I keep finding that Cameron, who is 9, is hitting, kicking or otherwise man-handling Charlie. How do you explain that Charlie doesn’t listen, never remembers, just generally doesn’t get it, but we don’t resort to physical force to make him stop whatever it is he is doing?
I say, “Cameron, talk to him and tell him what you want.”
He says, “It doesn’t work!”
I say, “I know, you just have to keep doing it.”
It has to be so frustrating to watch us as parents struggle, spank, get nowhere, lose tempers, keep tempers, get nowhere and not want to just do what you feel like since none of it seems to make a difference.
